How to Measure Your Child
Every product page has a free “Need a perfect fit?” option where you can enter your child’s exact measurements — we’ll stitch to them instead of the standard size. Here’s how to take each measurement.
Height required
Stand your child against a wall without shoes, heels touching the wall. Measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Chest required
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, keeping it level all the way around.
Waist required
Measure around the natural waistline (just above the belly button). Don’t pull the tape tight — leave a finger’s room.
Kameez Length optional
Measure from the top of the shoulder (next to the neck) straight down to where you want the kameez to end.
Sleeve Length optional
With the arm relaxed at the side, measure from the shoulder tip down to the wrist (or your preferred sleeve end).
Shalwar Length optional
Measure from the waist down the side of the leg to the ankle. This is the one to adjust for long or short legs.
How to Choose the Right Size
Select the age category closest to your child’s current age and body size. If your child is taller, healthier, or between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.
- Choose based on both age and body size.
- Check height and chest if possible.
- Choose a larger size if the child is between two sizes.
- Pakistani ethnic outfits usually look better with a comfortable fit.
- Do not select a smaller size for a tight fit.
- If the outfit is for an upcoming event, consider the child’s expected growth before ordering.
Our Fit Style
Our outfits are stitched with a comfortable ethnic-wear fit, suitable for movement, sitting, and festive occasions. The fit is not skin-tight.
- The outfit should allow comfortable movement.
- Slight ease is normal in Pakistani ethnic wear.
- The final look may vary slightly based on fabric type and selected shalwar style.
- A comfortable fit is recommended for children.
Shalwar Style Fit Notes
Because you choose a shalwar style on the product page, here’s how each lower style fits.
Punjabi Salwar
A traditional loose salwar with relaxed volume and comfort.
Patiala
A fuller, more gathered salwar style that gives a festive traditional look. This style usually needs more fabric and creates more volume.
Churidar
A more fitted lower style with gathered folds near the ankle. This gives a slimmer traditional look compared to other salwar styles.
Afghani Salwar
A relaxed, wide-volume salwar with a soft traditional silhouette. This style feels loose and comfortable.
Palazzo Cut
A modern wide-leg style that feels comfortable, elegant, and easy to wear.
Lace Placement Note
Lace placement affects the final look and finishing of the outfit. On the product page, you can choose No Lace, Sleeves Only, Daman Only, Sleeves + Daman, or As Per Design Recommendation.
Final lace style may vary slightly depending on design compatibility, lace availability, and fabric type.
Important Sizing Note
Lili & Co. stitches to standard age-size measurements by default. If your child needs a different fit, use the free “Need a perfect fit?” custom-measurements option on any product page — we’ll stitch to the measurements you provide. Slight fit variation may occur depending on the child’s body type, selected shalwar style, and fabric type.
The size chart is provided as a guide. Customers should review the chart carefully before placing an order. If a child is between two sizes, selecting the larger size is recommended — or simply enter custom measurements.
Please note: custom-measured outfits may take 2–3 extra days to prepare and cannot be returned or exchanged for size issues, since each one is stitched specifically for your child. Measurements are taken exactly as you provide them, so please measure carefully.
